Missed call cost calculator
What are a locksmith's missed calls actually worth?
A missed call costs a UK business the sale that caller would have become, because many callers who cannot get through ring the next business instead of trying again. This calculator turns the calls you miss each week into a monthly figure, using your own sale value and your own estimates, and shows what answering them would cost.

What missed calls really cost a locksmith
Lockout work is the most urgent trade there is. The caller is standing outside their house or car, often at night, and they will call every locksmith on the first page of results until a human answers. Nobody leaves a voicemail while locked out. Miss the call and the job is not delayed, it is gone, usually inside ten minutes.
Out of hours is where the money is, and where the misses are
Evening and weekend call-outs carry your best rates, and they are exactly the calls that ring while you are asleep, on another job, or driving. The calculator's £300 default is a deliberately modest average: commercial work, lock replacements after burglaries and automotive jobs often run well above it.
Why we keep the numbers low
We count only half your missed calls as real call-out enquiries, you set how many of those ring another locksmith, and the result is rounded down. Even on those cautious terms, recovering two or three call-outs a month is several hundred pounds, and a single £300 call-out covers six months of Voco Starter.
How locksmiths use Voco
Voco answers instantly, day or night. It finds out where the caller is and what they are locked out of, takes their number, and texts you the details or books the job while the caller is still on the line, so the person standing outside their front door never needs to ring the next name on the list. Call the demo line and hear it handle a lockout before you decide.
What it costs
Voco costs about 29p a minute for a typical call, ex VAT, with no monthly fee and no contract, so the weeks nobody locks themselves out cost you almost nothing. Monthly plans are there if your volume is steady.
By industry
What does a missed call cost in your industry?

The other side of the sum
What would it cost to answer every one of them?
On pay as you go, Voco costs 29p a minute, billed by the second, with no monthly fee. A typical call lasts about 75 seconds, so answering 20 calls a month costs about £7, and calls under 10 seconds cost nothing.
