Who pay as you go is for
Pay as you go suits a bursty or unpredictable call pattern: a sole trader, a new business testing the water, or seasonal work where some months are far busier than others. There is nothing to commit to and nothing to cancel.
You get the same full receptionist as every Voco plan. The only thing that changes is how you pay: by the minute from credit you have loaded, rather than a fixed monthly price.
If you take calls steadily every month, a monthly plan usually works out cheaper and gives you a set number of included calls for a fixed price. You can compare the two on the plans page.

Funding your account
How do I fund my account?
Your wallet lives in your dashboard. You add credit with a debit or credit card, and your first top-up turns pay as you go on straight away. Every top-up and every charge shows in your wallet as it happens.
What is the minimum I can fund?
The smallest single top-up is £2.00, ex VAT. You can load that to get started and add more whenever you like.
What is the maximum I can fund?
A single top-up can be up to £500.00, ex VAT. That ceiling is only there to protect you from a mistyped amount. There is no limit on the total balance you build up over time, so you can top up as often as you need.
Is there a minimum spend or monthly commitment?
No. There is no monthly fee, no minimum spend, and no contract. Your credit does not expire while your account is active, so what you load stays yours to use.
What happens to my credit if I cancel?
Your credit never expires while your account is open, so you can use it whenever your calls come in. If you decide to close your account, contact our support team and we will sort out any unused balance with you.
Auto top-up
Set a balance to trigger on and an amount to add, and your saved card refills your wallet automatically before your credit runs low. Your line keeps answering without you having to think about it. You can switch auto top-up off or change the amounts whenever you like.
What happens when my balance is low
As your credit gets low we show a banner in your dashboard and send you a notification, so a top-up is never a surprise.
If your balance reaches zero with auto top-up switched off, your number stops answering new calls. Nothing is deleted and none of your settings change. As soon as you add credit, your receptionist starts answering again straight away.
Auto top-up avoids this altogether by refilling your balance before it runs out, so your line stays live.

Frequently asked questions
Each call is charged by the minute at 29p a minute, ex VAT, rounded up to the next whole minute. A call of two minutes and ten seconds is billed as three minutes. The cost comes off your wallet balance as soon as the call ends.
We only charge for calls that last 10 seconds or more. Calls under 10 seconds are not charged. Longer calls are billed by the minute, rounded up, so the shortest billed call is one minute at 29p.
Your card is charged the moment you top up, either when you add credit by hand or when auto top-up fires. There is no separate monthly invoice and no charge for each call; calls draw down the credit you have already loaded.
Yes. You can move to a monthly plan whenever your call volume makes it the better value, and any credit left in your wallet stays on your account. The spend calculator above shows you where a plan starts to work out cheaper.
Your calls and customer details are handled in line with UK GDPR and PECR. Your data is held securely in the UK, used only to run your receptionist, and never sold. You can ask for your call records or for deletion at any time.
