Missed call cost calculator
What are your branch's missed calls actually worth?
A missed call costs a UK business the sale that caller would have become, because many callers who cannot get through ring the next business instead of trying again. This calculator turns the calls you miss each week into a monthly figure, using your own sale value and your own estimates, and shows what answering them would cost.
- Every assumption is on screen and yours to change
- Rounded down, never up

The working
How is the missed call cost calculated?
The calculator takes the calls you miss each week, turns them into a month, keeps only the real enquiries, applies your own estimates and multiplies by your sale value. These are your current figures.

What missed calls really cost a letting agent
In lettings, speed is the product. The landlord deciding who gets the instruction usually rings two or three agents, and the one who answers first sets the tone for the whole conversation. The applicant who cannot reach you about a viewing books one somewhere else the same afternoon. Very few of these callers try you twice.
Enquiries decay by the hour
A viewing request is hottest in the first hour after the listing goes up, and a landlord enquiry at 6pm does not keep until tomorrow morning. The calculator's £600 default is a cautious blend of a let's commission; sales instructions and fully managed landlords are worth many times more, which is why we would rather you put your own figure in.
Tenant emergencies do not respect office hours
The burst pipe in one of your managed properties rings on a Saturday night. Answering it well is the difference between a logged, triaged maintenance job and an angry landlord on Monday. Voco answers around the clock, takes the details, and can log maintenance issues straight into your workflow.
How letting agents use Voco
Voco answers every branch call in seconds: applicant enquiries get viewing details taken, landlord enquiries get captured with their number and property, and tenant emergencies get triaged and passed on immediately. We count only half your missed calls as genuine enquiries and round down at every step, so the figure above is the floor, not the ceiling. Hear how it handles a tenant emergency on the demo line.
What it costs
Voco costs about 29p a minute for a typical call, ex VAT, with no monthly fee and no contract, which suits a branch whose call volume swings with the market. Monthly plans are there if yours is steady.
By industry
What does a missed call cost in your industry?
The cost of a missed call depends mostly on what one customer is worth to you, so each industry calculator starts from the jobs that industry actually gets.

- Calculator for locksmithsA lockout is urgent, so the caller rings the next locksmith rather than wait.Open
- Calculator for dental practicesA new patient is rarely a single appointment. It is years of check-ups.Open

The other side of the sum
What would it cost to answer every one of them?
On pay as you go, Voco costs 29p a minute, billed by the second, with no monthly fee. A typical call lasts about 75 seconds, so answering 20 calls a month costs about £7, and calls under 10 seconds cost nothing.
